Flame Retardants

Flame retardants are used to prevent a flame from ocurring or to slow its combustion. It is of two types, reactive and additive.

Flame retardants used as additives haven't formation of chemical bonds and are dispersed in the material.

Reactive flame retardants are bonded to the raw material by forming a chemical bond. It is more reactive than the additive.
